NFS Utilities for Linux

This directory provides a second-source for the nfs-utils package which provides user-space support for both NFS clients and NFS servers.

NFS clients will also need a mount program, available elsewhere, to mount NFS directories. nfs-utils contains all support needed for an NFS server.

nfs-utils is hosted on Source Forge at http://nfs.sourceforge.net/.

This release contains a fix for a remotely exploitable buffer overflow bug. It also contains support for new functionality in 2.6.0. It is the first pre-release for 1.1.0.

nfs-utils-1.0.3 (bz or gz) is released.
With pending changes to 32 device numbers in Linux 2.5, the old system call interface that is used to export NFS filesystems has question marks over it. This release will, if possible, use the new /proc/net/rpc/*/channel text/plain interface to export filesystems, thus avoiding any problems there might be.
